WiiWare: Officially Announced of Eduardo the Samurai Toaster, Coming This Winter

January 5th, 2009

Colorado, USA - January 5th, 2009 – Indie developer Semnat Studios is excited to finally announce the upcoming Wii™ release of Eduardo the Samurai Toaster, an incredibly fast and frenetic sidescrolling, run‘n’gun 2D shooter. The game will be released exclusively for WiiWare™ this winter, developed and published by Semnat Studios.

With visuals drawn and scanned in from several different art mediums such as pen & ink, acrylic paint and charcoal, Eduardo sports an untraditional aesthetic design for a videogame. Jump, shoot, whip, drive, fly and throw your way through hordes of Peking Opera pastries, spear toting carrots, robotic mangos, and more. Play with friends as you learn to cooperate effectively, or be annoying by throwing each other around the screen and attacking one another.

FEATURES
- Drop in co-op play for up to four players.
- Ride scooters equipped with laser-blasters and fly around in rocket packs in single player or co-op.
- Use 5 different pastry pickups to upgrade your firepower.
- Battle enemies through 13 unique levels.
- Several different difficulty options to choose from, allowing players to pick their desired level of challenge.

Eduardo the Samurai Toaster has been Rated E for everyone by the ESRB.

DSi: Bob On The DSi and More…

January 4th, 2009

Remember that guy Bob, his is making a game for the DS but Nintendo will not send him a development kit to finish it, so he locked himself in a room for a while to get their attention. Well lets just say if you ever want to make a game for a company, it’s a smart idea not to put that companies products down. Below is from a blog post on his site.

Why is Nintendo releasing the DSi? It has a few extra features, yes- but there is much debate over whether these features justify buying a whole new console.
The primary purpose of the DSi is probably as a countermeasure to battle the compatibility and availability of “homebrew-enabling devices.”

Why would Nintendo need to do this? They’re “printing money,” aren’t they? Nintendo reportedly only makes $6 per Wii unit sold, and believe it or not- third party Wii sales are not satisfactory! The highest selling games are all by Nintendo themselves- this is fine for a software company, but not for a console manufacturer. It’s the third party sales that generate the profit Nintendo needs to stay afloat!
